As I've mentioned in a couple of previous posts, I am starting an email newsletter for those interested in keeping up with me and my adventures in comedy. I'm doing this because Facebook, quite frankly, SUCKS right now. Fan Pages are practically nonexistent (because they've changed the coding so that only a small percentage of a page's posts get seen--thus eliminating any need for one), and even regular posts get buried under an unrelenting barrage of memes, LOLcats, Someecards, and photos of your baby I don't give a shit about. Therefore, it makes self-promotion a bit difficult to stick out. Twitter hasn't fallen victim to this (yet), but because of its own limitations, it also makes self-promotion a little difficult.
Now, yes, all of those reasons are also why I have this website, as a central hub for anything regarding my comedy, but in order for people to come here, they usually have to be directed here thru those social media platforms--and that's if they actually SEE the link. However, I want to create an even MORE direct way for people to be updated, hence this new email newsletter. The way I see it, everyone has an email address that they check at least a few times a week, and what better way to know what's going on with me than to simply check your email and see a thing from me? (BTW: If you don't have an email address, it's 20-fucking-12, numbnuts.)
What is this email newsletter (titled, "Foxhole Dispatches") going to contain? It'll have show updates, videos, news, and other miscellaneous things, like a funny short essay about a recent show or a link to a news article I found interesting. I basically want the newsletter to be an extension of the kind of stuff you see on my Facebook & Twitter feeds, but without having to deal with all the other bullshit of Facebook & Twitter. In other words, if you like the kinda stuff I post on those sites, you'll dig the email newsletter, and I highly recommend you sign up for it.

My goal is to begin building my audience from the ground-up. For too long, I've relied on Facebook & Twitter to put myself and my comedy out there, and while I'm not giving up those things by any means, I want to be able to connect with my audience without having to use any sort of social media middlemen. It's just more fun that way.
The first newsletter will be sent out on September 1st. I suggest you sign up for the email list BEFORE that date, because I'm going to be sending out a new stand-up video EXCLUSIVELY to members of my email list in the first newsletter. It's all-new material that isn't on my album or anywhere else online, and I think you'll dig it too.
